Every day Norway puts more than 38 million seafood meals on the global dinner table. As one of Norway\u2019s largest seafood groups, sustainability is also one of Nerg\u00e5rd\u2019s most important tasks.<\/p>\n
Many of the world\u2019s fish stocks are under major threat due to overfishing and pollution. The sea along the coast of Northern Norway and the Barents Sea, where we catch our raw material, is clean and rich in nutrients. In this precise area, we find some the world\u2019s largest and best managed stocks of groundfish and pelagic species.<\/p>\n
We are highly aware of our responsibility to help conserve these areas so that future generations can also benefit from these resources.<\/p>\n

In order to run our business, we are reliant on the local communities being socially sustainable. Consequently, we are committed to sponsoring grassroots sports and other activities for children and young people and contributing to ensuring the local communities have the facilities they need to make it attractive to live there.<\/p>\n Nerg\u00e5rd Havfiske is working actively to get more women on board. Fishing is traditionally a very male-dominated profession. However, we have gradually managed to attract more female employees.
